How to use AsapView

Beyond the viewer window: open, convert and print straight from File Explorer, or automate it all from the command line.

Explorer right-click menu

Open, convert or print images straight from File Explorer, without opening AsapView first.

Image files

Right-click an image and choose AsapView › Open, Convert… or Print…. Select several files and choose Convert… or Print…, and they all open in a single AsapView window, gathered in the basket.

Folders

Right-click a folder, or the empty space inside one, and choose Open with AsapView to see it as a thumbnail grid.

Windows 11 and Windows 10

On Windows 11 these items are under Show more options, or hold Shift while you right-click. On Windows 10 they appear directly in the menu.

Turning it off

To hide the items, open AsapView's right-click menu and turn off Show in Explorer right-click menu. Uninstalling AsapView removes them automatically.

Command line and silent print

The installer adds asapview-cli.exe. Tick Add asapview-cli to PATH during setup to run it from any folder. It prints and converts without opening a window, and returns an exit code your script can check.

Good for

  • Kiosk and photo-booth printing
  • Scheduled batch conversion with Task Scheduler
  • Scripts and automation

Exit codes

0Success

2Usage error, such as an unknown option

asapview.exe accepts the same arguments, for example --print … --silent. In scripts, use asapview-cli instead: the console waits for it to finish and receives the exit code.
